Only 1 student every year is awarded the Annabel Abbs Scholarship. This tells us that the scholarship is extremely hard to get and you must be an excellent candidate to receive it.

The Annabel Abbs Scholarship offers GBP 5,000 or INR 5.08 lakhs to the winning student. The amount granted can be used for tuition fees or maintenance but no other expenses. The International tuition fee for the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) is GBP 17,600 or INR 17.96 lakhs for 2023.

Selection Process 

The University of East Anglia gives preference to candidates over the age of 35 for the Annabel Abbs Scholarship. Otherwise, the criteria on which the student is judged are given below:

• Mature student 
• Self-funded 
• Shows a great need for financial support
