Founded in 1945, the Ivano Frankivsk National Medical University is located in Ivano city in North-West of Ukraine and it is one of the leading higher education public universities of the region. It is affiliated at IVth level which is highest in Ukraine Conferred by the State Accreditation Committee of Ukraine. The university is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, governed by the World Health Organisation, and Geneva International Medical Education Directory. Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
Ivano is one of the beautiful cities of Ukraine and the university is situated in the arms of this beautiful city. The library of the Ivano Frankivsk National Medical University plays a vital role in the development of students and staff. It was created in 1956, and for 45 years and still counting, the library offers knowledge of educational and scientific literature. Today it has more than 800 thousand volumes. The university has 3 libraries. The library consists of more than 7,00,000 copies of different niches. Every year around 20,000 new books come into the library, 400 home and foreign journals are also subscribed. The books and journals are in the Ukrainian, English, Russian, French and German languages. The niches of different medical subjects are Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Histology, Microbiology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Urology, Pharmacology, Surgery and many more. Some more disciplines are English language, History of medicine, Latin language, General Hygiene, Social Medicine and Healthcare Management. The library is open for university staff and students and registered borrowers. The university offers courses like foundation, pre-medical, medicine, dental, and more. The majors offered by the university are General Medicine, Dentistry, Paediatrics, Pharmacy, Nursing and Prosthodontics.
