HGV Class 1 Fuel Driver:  On a rotating work pattern of 10 to 12 hours per day, this employment offers £56,000 a year, with prorated pay up to that amount. Drivers must have a current and valid Digi Card and CPC.

Next is, HGV Class 2 Driver – Food Delivery Driver: The salary for this position is £39,000 annually, and it involves transporting food and catering supplies to a variety of establishments, such as stores, restaurants, bars, schools, and care facilities.

HGV Driver C E Container Driver: The wage range for this full-time, permanent position is £34,000 to £50,000 annually.

Eligibility Requirements Truck Driver Job

When working on a truck driver job, you are required to provide and fulfil the required criteria. 

  • Your age must be 18+.
  • Also, you must have a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
  • You must have a valid passport.
  • You must have a valid driving license, and IDP (International Driving Permit). However, if you come from abroad, you should get your license transferred to the United Kingdom and be ready to work.
  • The entire Driver CPC consists of 5 examinations. If you wish to retrain after previously qualifying as an HGV driver, for instance, you might not need to complete all five examinations.
  • To remain certified, complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years.
  • You are allowed to fulfil the requirements of Healthcare documents.

Vehicles and licenses are sectioned into categories:

  • Category B: Main car driving license – vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • Category C: Rigid vehicles weighing over 7,500kg/7.5 tonne with trailers weighing up to 750kg.
  • Category C1: Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) weighing up to 7,500kg/7.5 tonnes.
  • Category C+E:  articulated vehicles over 7,500kg/7.5 tonnes with trailers weighing more than 750kg.
