• On the 27th of August, 1936 AISF was formed in Lucknow during British rule.

The Activities of the AISF are as follows:

Demands and Protests

• In 2019 there was an active participation in the protests of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
• In addition, in 2019, the AISF opposed the National Education Policy and demanded a hike in the university fee. 
• In 2020, during COVID-19, AISF activists issued necessary products. Furthermore, they had helpline numbers to assist students.
• In August 2021, the AISF organized a hunger strike by urging a fresh job calendar in Andhra Pradesh.
• On the 15th of May, 2022 AISF organized a nationwide convention against the National Education Policy (NEP) in Chennai. 

LGBTQIA+ Matters

• In 2022, Nadira Mehrin, an AISF state committee member, became the first transgender person to contest in a student union election at Kerala University.
