PCS Age Limit 

  • Minimum Age: To apply for the PCS exam, the candidate must be over the age of 20.

  • Age limit reduction of 5 years for Scheduled cast category
  • Age limit reduction of 5 years for the Schedule Tribe category

Academic Qualification

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • The candidate must have completed their graduation with the required aggregate marks.
  • Candidates should also be physically and psychologically healthy.
  • Applicants must provide their final year legitimate scorecard/mark sheet along with their application form.

However, holders of specified education qualifications can also apply for the PCS exam. The following are some examples:

  1. Sub Registrar, Assistant Prosecuting Officer (Transport), Law Officer, Manda Parishad Law Officer – Completion (Law)
  2. District Administrative – Officer PG Degree, District Basic Shiksha Adhikari/ Associate DIOS & Other Equivalent Administrative Posts
  3. Graduation is required for the position of District Cane Officer (Agriculture)
  4. Graduation is required for the position of District Audit Officer (Commerce)
  5. Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade I)/Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade II) (Grade II) – A science degree with Physics or Mechanical Engineering as one of the subjects.
  6. An Arts degree with Sociology or Economics as a topic or Commerce/Law is required for the position of Assistant Labour Commissioner.
  7. Degree (Sociology/Social Science/Home Science/Social Work) is required for the position of District Programme Officer.
  8. DIET PG Degree with B.Ed. is required for the position of Senior Lecturer.
  9. District Probation Officer- Postgraduate Degree (Relevant Disciplines)
  10. PG Designated Officer/Food Safety Officer (Chemistry)
  11. Statistical officer – Postgraduate Degree (Mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics/ Agricultural Statistics)
  12. Bachelor’s/Degree Master’s Required for the Position of Labor Enforcement Officer (Relevant Disciplines)
  13. Horticultural officer Group-2 Grade-1 – (B.Sc. Agriculture / B.Sc Horticulture)
  14. Group-2 Extension Service Officer – B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Ag.) with a 15-month Post-graduate Diploma Course
  15. Bachelor’s degree required for the position of Tax Assessment Officer (Commerce or Economics)
  16. Graduation required for the position of Marketing Officer/Secretary Group-II (Mandi Parishad) (Relevant Disciplines)
  17. Graduation (Commerce) with Accounting required for the position of Account and Audit Officer (Mandi Parishad).
  18. Senior Sugarcane Development Inspector – Postgraduate Degree (Agriculture Science) and CCC Certificate
  19. B.V.Sc. and A.H. or equivalent are required for the position of Veterinary and Welfare Officer.
