University of Dubai 

The University of Dubai offers extraordinary courses in the fields of business, law, engineering and informative technology (IT). The university caters to both local students and international students and offers merit-based scholarships as well as special discounts. The university is a government-run and funded institute. The university has three different colleges namely: 

  • Dubai Business School 
  • College of Engineering & IT
  • College of Law 

Intakes at the University of Dubai: When it comes to intakes at the University of Dubai, there are no such specific admission dates. The candidates or the students who want to pursue undergraduate programs, graduate programs and PhD programs can fill the e-Admission form or the preliminary application form that is available on the official site of the university and wait for a call.

Modul University

Modul University is an Austrian based university that has its base in Dubai, UAE as well. The university provides undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs or courses in the field of management like event management, hotel management, tourism management, entrepreneurship, information management etc. 

The admission intakes at Modul University at Dubai are as follows:

The Academic Calendar at Modul University in Dubai is divided into two semesters i.e.

  • September or the fall Semester
  • February or the spring semester

To get admission to Modul, the candidates have to first fill up the application form online which is available on the university’s website. The university is also providing students with study grants like early-enrollment grants, sports grants, and more to motivate them to take admission at Modul University in Dubai. 

American University

Founded in 1995, the American University is a private institution that provides higher education to students in Dubai, UAE.   • Fall Semester: Submission of early applications up until March/April (preference is given to early class registration). Submission of late applications through July/August

Canadian University Of Dubai

The applications for admission to Canadian University are accepted year-round. The applications are available online on the official website of the university. The university grants or allows three intakes in a year that can be in the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters. Heriot Watt University

Murdoch University

Murdoch University is an Australian-based public university in Perth that has its campus in Dubai and Singapore as well. Manipal Academy Of Higher Education

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) was formerly known as Manipal University, is a deemed university that is located in the town of Manipal in Karnataka, India and has branch campuses in Malaysia, Dubai and Mangalore. The university offers foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses that range from engineering to architecture, management, life science, humanities, design and communications. MAHE at present offers intake to new students into the university campus only in September for most of its programs. Apart from this, the university also offers intake in February and September for some programs as well. 

Admission Requirements in Dubai

  • Academic documents of successful completion for class 10th and 12th or of equivalent (For Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs)

  • English proficiency requirements like IELTS or TOEFL (if asked) for foreign accredited universities in Dubai. 
  • Decent Entrance exam score (if demanded by the university)
  • Resume/CV
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • Recommendation letter from previous University or Institute. 
  • Copy of passport

Dubai Student Visa

If you are planning to study in Dubai,  you will require a study visa for all full-time programs. It is valid for 12 months, so you will have to get it renewed at the end of the 12 month period if your course is longer than the prescribed period. You can also avail short-term visas for programs less than 12 months. You shall start the process 1-2 months before the semester begins.

Documents Required 

  • Passport with at least 6 months validity, the passport must have two blank visa pages (one to endorse the visa and one for entry stamps)
  • Passport copies (about 4)
  • Photographs (about 12)
  • Passport copies (about 2 copies)
  • Upon arrival, passport copies with entry visa to the UAE (about 3 copies)
  • Offer letter (Evidence of acceptance to a UAE tertiary institute)
  • Bank statements showing evidence of funds to study and live in UAE
  • Copy of tuition fee receipt for the current study year of the program
  • Post-graduate students will need to have their undergraduate degree attested
  • Possibly a tenancy agreement (or letter from the university if staying in university accommodation)
  • Copy of visa fees receipt for the current study year of the program

Dubai student visa fees for first-time issuing and renewal is AED 100.

Long-term Visa for Outstanding Students

2018 onwards, the UAE government approved a decision to grant a 5-year visa to outstanding students. Eligibility conditions for a 5-year visa are:

  • School students must graduate with a grade of at least 95 per cent from secondary schools whether public or private.
  • University students must graduate with a distinctive GPA of at least 3.75 from universities within and outside the country.
  • Note: Visa benefits will also include families of the outstanding students.
