Eligibility Criteria
There are certain requirements to appear for the IBPS PO exam. Some of the common ones are listed below.
Nationality
- Citizen of India
- The citizen of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee settled since January 1, 1962
Academic Qualifications
- A graduate degree or equivalent in any stream but from a recognized university.
- The degree should be dated earlier than August 28, 2020.
Age Limit
The candidate should be between the age of 20-30 as of 1 August 2021. There are certain relaxations in age if you belong to different categories of society like Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes get 5 years relaxation in their age.
Application Process for IBPS Exams
There are certain steps to keep in mind about applying for the exam. The application form is scheduled to come on the official website by the second week of August. As soon as that comes, be ready and prepared enough to go through the registration.
Step 1: Registration for The IBPS Exam
- Visit the official website of ibps.in
- Search for the tab “Click here for New Registration”
- Fill out the particulars
- A provisional registration number and password would be provided by the website.
Step 2: Upload Documents
Candidates have to upload these documents-
- Photograph of 20-50 KBs
- Signature of 10-20 Kbs
- Left Thumb Impression of 20-50 KBs
- Hand Written Declaration 50-100 KBs
Step 3: Fill The IBPS Application Form
- Fill in your personal, academic, and all the necessary details
- Choose the position you are applying for and the preferred exam cities. The exam is held in different cities like Delhi, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, etc.
- Then submit the form using the appropriate options.
Step 4: Pay The Application Fee
- The candidate has to pay the application fee after filling in the details
- The fee depends from person to person as for General it is INR 600 and for SC/ST/PWD it is INR 100.
- Pay the money through Net banking, Debit/Credit Cards, IMPS, or Mobile Wallets.

Interview Round and then Provisional Allotment
Candidates who secure the stipulated marks to qualify for the written tests are given the call by the IBPS board to come for an interview. After the interview, if selected, the candidates become official and are given the allotment letter.

IBPS Clerk Exam
The IBPS Clerk exam is usually conducted on two levels – prelims and mains. It is for a direct-entry clerical position at banks and required the candidate to qualify both the prelims and main stages. It is organised by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection where the recruited candidates are on probation for 6 months before becoming a permanent employee.
