Offered by the Ashoka University, YIF is one of the top fellowships in India that gives an opportunity to approximately 300 brilliant and meritorious students who come from different backgrounds; culturally, financially and academically and prepares them to become future leaders by equipping them with effective communication skills and enhancing critical thinking ability. The curriculum involves a combination of different core and elective subjects in science, social studies, arts, languages, etc. The undergraduate or postgraduate candidates in any discipline who are below 28 years of age and have an exceptional academic record and verbal abilities are eligible to apply for YIF. Teach for India Fellowship 

For the brightest and young minds coming from some of the most reputed colleges and universities in India and who have a passion for teaching can find vast opportunities through the Teach for India Fellowship. The fellows get to teach the students from a low-income background in under-resourced schools so that they get to know the grass-route realities of the current education system of India. With an acceptance rate of as low as 6% to 8.5%, the candidates have to go through a 3-staged selection process- Online Test (AMCAT), Telephonic Interview and Assessment Centre (Group Discussion/Problem-solving activities). The selected candidates will be given a monthly salary of INR 20,412 along with a housing allowance between INR 5,300 to 10,000 for the ones who have to relocate.

Legislative Assistant to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship

The young Indians who have a keen interest in politics and constitutional activities, LAMP Fellowship provides them with a golden opportunity to learn law-making and public policy under a Member of Parliament (MP). Such fellowships in India provide the fellows to be mentored by an MP and work full time under them for a year. The main role performed by the candidate is to provide extensive research support to the MP for works such as drafting parliamentarian questions, speeches for the MP for zero hour debates, raising various matters of public importance, etc. The Indian candidates having a graduate degree in any discipline and are below the age of 25 years can apply for this coveted fellowship program. A LAMP Fellow will be given a stipend of INR 20,000 per month and the office space will be provided by the MP itself (If available) 

Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship Program

Open for the working professionals from different fields who are willing to transform the society for good, Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship Program is one of the most coveted fellowships in India. Under this, the fellows will be placed in one of their own schools where they will have to teach the students for at least 150 days and simultaneously engage with the teachers, education/community authorities and functionaries. The candidates below 35 years of age having a work experience of more than 4 years and have a graduate degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Additionally, the applicant has to be proficient in any of the local languages (Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu). Gandhi Fellowship

Started by the Kaivalya Education Foundation, the Gandhi Fellowship is a two-year, full-time residential program which aims at producing future leaders who work towards identifying, evaluating and solving the grass-root level issues related to the current education system in India. Gandhi Fellowship is one of those education-related fellowships in India wherein the five fellows will work towards building the nation through collaborating with the principles and headmasters of 25 schools at districts and state level. The applicant below 26 years of age who holds graduation or a post-graduation degree are eligible to apply. The fellows are entitled to a grant of INR 14,000 and a mobile allowance of INR 600 per month.

Kothari Fellowship

Dr. D.S. Kothari Post Doctoral Fellowship or Kothari Fellowship is one of the popular fellowships in India that aim to facilitate young minds who want to pursue a career in research in the field of science and universalize the culture of post-doctoral research studies in India. Valid for 3 years, the fellows under this program receive the financial reward of INR 43,800 per month for the first year, INR 45,000 per month for the second year and INR 46,500 per month for the third year.
