The Colgate Scholarship or Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme launched by Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited aims at providing financial aid of up to ₹75,000 per annum to underprivileged students with an exceptional academic record. Besides financial help, the scholarship also provides mentorship and career-related guidance throughout the program as per the requirement of the beneficiary. 

Types of Keep India Smiling Foundational Scholarship Programme

Students pursuing class XI, certificate, undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Engineering [BE] degree, and vocational courses can get financial aid through the Colgate keep India smiling foundation scholarship programme 2022. The organisation also provides possibilities for scholarships to athletes and those who volunteer their time. The basic Colgate scholarship program’s list of recipients is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for Colgate Scholarship

The Colgate Scholarship is valid only for Indian nationals. In addition, there are different eligibility guidelines for different levels of higher education which have been discussed below:

Class 11th Students

• The student must have passed class X in the same year with an aggregate score of at least 75%. 
• The student should have secured admission in class XII.
• The annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh from all sources.

Diploma or Graduation Courses

• The student must have passed 10+2 in the same year with an aggregate score of at least 60%.
• The student should have secured admission in a 3-year diploma or graduation course in any recognized institution.
• The annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh from all sources.

Engineering Courses

• The student must have passed 10+2 in the same year with an aggregate score of at least 60%.
• The student should have secured admission in an undergraduate engineering course in any recognized institution.
• The annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh from all sources.

Vocational Courses

• The student should have passed 10+2 in the same year with an aggregate score of at least 60%.
• The student should have secured admission in a vocational course in any recognized institution.
• The annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh from all sources.

Individuals Helping Others

• The applicant should be involved in social activities like teaching unprivileged children or training them professionally in sports.
• The applicant should belong to an economically weaker section or moderate-income group of the society.

Sportspersons

• The candidate should have represented their district/state/country at the district/state/national level.
• The candidate should be ranked within 10, 100 or 500 at the district, state or national level respectively. 
• The annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh from all sources.

Documents Required for Colgate Scholarship

Given below is a list of key documents required to be uploaded for the Colgate Scholarship:

• Applicant’s passport-sized photograph.
• A valid government identity proof (PAN Card/Adhaar Card/Driving License/Voter’s ID).
• A valid family income proof issued by the government authority (Income Certificate/Food Security Certificate/BPL Certificate/or any other certificate proving the income of the family).
• Class 10th marksheet
• Latest qualifying marksheet or education certificate.
• Admission Letter/Fee Receipt/Bonafide Certificate/College ID Card.
• Result of the entrance examination so appeared.
• Disability Certificate, in case a candidate is physically challenged.
• Copy of the highest performance achieved (only for sportsperson).
• PAN Number/GST Number/Certificate of Incorporation/Registered Office Address/Company Type/Cancelled Cheque/80G Certificate (only for individuals helping others working with association/NGO or society).

How to Apply for Colgate Scholarship?

• As soon as you come across the floating dates of the Colgate scholarship, purchase any of the Colgate toothpaste. 
• Give a miss call on the toll free number mentioned on the packet- 1800 313 4575
• The customer care executives from the official and will call you back 
• In the next step, you will have to select the option of IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) 
• The applicants will be asked to answer to simple questions 
• In the final step you will be asked to enter some specific details that will help you ahead in the verification process

Selection Process

There are certain criteria upon which the winners of the scholarships will be decided by the chairman committee as well as the official body- 

• A random sampling of the registered entries will be made and the scholars will be selected on this basis 
• From the ones who have given the right answers on the call, 501 entries will be selected by a random sampling
• Out of the selected lot, 45 participants will be randomly selected who will be awarded the scholarship amount of INR 1,00,000
• The remaining 456 entries will receive a cash prize of 10,000

Post Selection Process

For the candidates who have received the status as being selected, mentioned below are some simple steps that you need to follow- 

• A list of selected candidates will be published and the selected candidates will be contacted for prize distribution 
• Prizes will be delivered through fund drafts or cheques
• candidates will have to fill-up the form that will be sent to their address 
• It is is essential to submit that form within 10 days along with the soft copy of the required documents
