At the opening ceremony of its Going Global Asia Pacific 2022 conference in Singapore, the British Council officially launched Alumni UK, a global network of alumni from UK higher education abroad. The British Council is celebrating its 75th anniversary in Singapore by holding the first regional edition of its premier international conference on higher education.
More than 300 guests, including Sir Steve Smith, the UK Government International Education Champion, notable UK higher education alumni from the Asia-Pacific region, and senior higher education leaders who are attending this year’s Going Global Asia Pacific conference, participated at the launch at Eden Hall, the official residence of the British High Commissioner to Singapore.
Eligibility?
All international nationals who have finished at least one term of study at a UK higher education institution, including online and transnational learning, are welcome to join the global Alumni UK network. It costs nothing to sign up.
The global Alumni UK network is open to all foreign students who have completed at least one term of study at a UK higher education institution, including online and transnational learning. Registration is free.
H.E. Kara Owen, the British High Commissioner to Singapore, Maddalaine Ansell, the Director of Education for the British Council, and Lucy Watkins, the Regional Director for East Asia for the British Council, launched the Alumni UK network.
What are the benefits?
Students can expand their professional networks and establish connections with people from all over the world who attended UK universities by becoming a member of Alumni UK. The network attempts to link people professionally while also bringing them together to work together to address global concerns. It provides access to events and training held locally, regionally, and internationally because it is a part of the free Alumni UK exclusive network.
Alumni will frequently have the chance to pick the brains of senior executives and subject matter experts. People can celebrate their shared ties to the UK and further their English language proficiency by joining the Alumni UK network.
