The Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal launched AICTE’s Lilavati Award on 16th November 2020 via his social media handles. Along with Ramesh Pokhriyal, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe and Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare attended the launch event. Nowadays, various initiatives are being taken in order to ensure that women receive equal treatment that they deserve, especially on the educational and professional front. Initiatives like Vedica Scholarship for women have already been working on this front and now this Lilavati Award is one more step in that direction.
Lilavati Award 2020
The Lilavati Award is an initiative taken by AICTE to empower women by raising awareness on issues related to employment, technology, skilled development, women rights, sanitation, literacy, health and hygiene.
As this year the theme of AICTE’s Lilavati Award is Women Empowerment it aims to make women self-reliant and confident and the only way to do so is by providing them a high-quality education. In order to ensure the participation of women in higher education and equivalent professional fields, this award will cover a lot of disciplines including women’s health, sanitation, health, Entrepreneurship and legal awareness.

All the faculty and students belonging to any AICTE recognised institution are eligible to participate in the Lilavati Award 2020 at both institution and team level. Then, a committee will consider all the entries and declare the award recipient.
