Pusan National University is a renowned national university in Busan, Korea's second largest city and a gateway to the Eurasian continent. Established on May 15, 1946 as Korea's first national university, it now has the status of the best national university in Korea. With 4 separate specialised campuses with strong education and research infrastructure Pusan ??????National University’s campuses are based in the southeastern region of the Korean Peninsula. The Busan campus has a rich history and traditions. The campus area is about 1.65 million square metres which are on the eastern skirt of Geumjeong Mountain. The University offers research programs to students who are willing to become scholars in a particular field. Various faculties of the university are College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Pharmacy, College of Human Ecology, College of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, College of Natural Resource and Life Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Economics and International Trade, and College of Information and Biomedical Engineering. Pusan ??????National University is famous for its engineering departments, including mechanical engineering. In QS World College Rankings, PNU ranks among the top 101-200 for six academic fields and for fostering International Experts. It has an alumni network of 2,40,000 working across professional fields in both Korea, and abroad. Some of the notable alumni are Kang Mal-geum (South Korean actress), Cho Kyoungtae (Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea), Young Min Yoo (Former Minister of Science and ICT of Government of South Korea).
