Oregon State University traces back to 1856, when it was established as the Corvallis Academy, a primary preparatory community school, that in 1868 became the Corvallis State Agricultural College. With growing student enrolments and increasing diversity in degree programs led the School to become Oregon State College in 1937 and in 1961, it was accorded its present status as Oregon State University. Oregon State University is designated as a Community Engagement University by Carnegie Foundation, and is also classified as a doctoral university with a status of "highest research activity." The University is one of the 73 Land-grant universities in the USA and is also the only State university apart from Penn State University, to be designated among the Sun-grant, Space-grant, and Sea-grant colleges in the United States. The US News and World Report ranks the University at #295 in the Best Global Universities and at #162 in the National Universities category in 2022. 

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

Oregon State University is situated across multiple campus locations, namely the main Corvallis Campus, the OSU-Cascades campus in Bend, Portland campus, the Hartfield Marine Science Center along with Extension Centers across 36 countries worldwide. The Corvallis location is a beautiful, historic and state-of-the-art campus situated in one of America's Best College Towns, while the Bend Campus is a dynamic community and expanding economy at the heart of Central Oregon. The University's academic structure is composed of a Graduate school, 11 Colleges of specialization, and an Honors College that offer more than 200 Undergraduate and over 100 Graduate degree programs.
