When was UNO Founded?
UNO was founded in 1945 after World War II with the ultimate goal of preventing future world wars. On 25 April 1945, 50 nations decided to meet in San Francisco for a conference and drafted the UN Charter. The draft was later adopted on 25 June 1945. UNO began its operations on 24 October 1945.
During the initial phase of UNO, it only had 51 members. Today it has 193 nations serving as a member.
