The full form of SWAT is Special, Weapons and Tactics. It is a team assembled for special dangerous circumstances that come across the department that need the SWAT to take over to de-escalate the situation. They are trained to use military-grade weapons and tactics in the United States of America.

Fun Fact: The members of the SWAT team are only 20-25 or less actually! Each member of the team has a very specific role and is included due to their strengths in that role.

What is the Eligibility of SWAT?

Other than going through rigorous training, the members are first examined and tested thoroughly to see if they have enough endurance to deal with any and all possible situations. They have to put themselves second to save a citizen. 

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age.
  • They must have a high school diploma.
  • Interested candidates must be a legal US citizen.
  • The SWAT have to be psychologically and physically fit.

What Devices does SWAT Use?

The SWAT team is trained to use any weapon and device to combat terrorist forces. Moreover, their devices and weapons are similar to what is used in the military. They are mostly trained for Close-Quarters Combat(CQC) in which the SWAT team uses their mental and physical tactics to deal with the situation.
