A pioneer institution in India known for its distance learning courses, School of Open Learning (SOL), formerly known as The School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education, was established in 1962, under the University of Delhi. Having some of the best distance learning courses in the country, SOL will be inviting applications for admission to the academic year 2020-21 in the month of August. The aspiring candidates can apply through both the online and offline modes depending upon the courses they want to pursue. SOL Admission: Eligibility Criteria

To qualify the SOL admission 2020, the candidates need to fulfill all the eligibility parameters as set by the university guidelines. Since the prerequisites will vary based on the courses, given below are the general conditions for eligibility: 

  • The applicant must have secured minimum percentile in their 10+2 for UG programs. 
  • For the PG courses, the candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field. 
  • For the UG degree programs, the SOL admission is completely Merit based. 
  • For the PG programs, the admission is 50% merit-based(those who have graduated from DU) and the remaining through the Delhi University Entrance Test(DUET), GD/Personal Interview
  • Foreign nationals who are currently residing in India are eligible to apply for the SOL admission. 
  • Indian students settled abroad are also eligible but they have to appear for the examination in Delhi.

SOL DU Admission 2021 Last Date

Although the dates for the SOL admission for the year 2020 have not been released yet, You can refer to the 2019 dates tabulated below so as to get an overview of the process:

Documents Required

Apart from satisfying the eligibility criteria, the candidates also have to submit a set of documents to complete the SOL admission process. Further, it is important to know that the applicants belonging to the General/OBC category have to pay a fee of Rs. 500 and those in the SC/SC/PwD categories have to submit Rs. 250 for the same. Enlisted are the documents required by the school:

  • Original and Copy of Marksheets
  • Passport Sized Photographs
  • Disability Certificate, If any
  • Self-attested mark sheets of graduation course for admission into PG programs

SOL Admission 2020: Application Process

After you have collected all the important documents, you can start with the application process. Here is a step by step guide on how to complete the SOL admission procedure: 

  • The first and foremost step is to register on the official website
  • Once registered, log in and complete the admission form
  • Upload the scanned copies of the required documents
  • Pay the requisite fee
  • Print the fee receipt along with the application form
  • Submit the documents at the designated centres (if needed). 

DU SOL Hall Ticket

Hall Tickets for Delhi University (DU) School of Open Learning (SOL) will be made available 15 days before SOL DU Exam 2021. Only the applicants who will fill the Admission form completely and pay application fees before the due dates will be eligible to download the DU SOL Hall Ticket from the official website. DU SOL Hall Ticket 2021 is the mandatory document to carry to the examination hall on the day of examination. 

The candidates who have registered for DU SOL 2021 can download the Hall Ticket by entering the required information like Email ID Password etc. Students will be informed about the venue, Exam dates and time, etc through the admit card.

Steps to Download Hall Ticket

Candidates who wish to download the DU SOL 2021 Hall Ticket need to follow these simple steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the official website – sol.du.ac.in (link will be activated once the Hall Ticket releases)
  • On the screen, a login window will appear
  • The DU SOL 2021 admit card will reflect on the screen
  • Download and take a few printouts of the DU SOL to admit card 2021.

Ques 1: Why good is DU SOL?

Ans. School of Distance Education, Delhi University (SOL, DU) offers Admission to all the 10+2 passed students at the Undergraduate level. The syllabus of various courses is also at par with the regular courses of Delhi University. Students can get admission without any high cutoff requirement. 

Ques 2: Is a DU SOL degree worth it?

Ans. The courses offered by DU SOL are recognized by UGC. Degrees awarded by DU SOL are equally good as any other degree from a recognized university of the country. Any candidate who is working in a full-time job or preparing for any competitive examination can take admission at DU SOL.

Ques 3: Is it possible to get a fee concession for studying at DU SOL?

Ans. Yes, students who belong to Economically Weaker Sections of society or whose family income is below INR 1 lakh, are offered concession in admission fee after the submission of Income certificate. 

Ques 4: Can I apply for multiple courses in an online form?

Ans. Yes, candidates can apply for multiple courses for DU admission 2021 through a single online application form of Delhi University.

Ques: 5 Once DU Cutoffs are declared, will the admission be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis?

Ans. Delhi University doesn’t offer admission in its colleges on the first come–first serve policy. The DU admissions 2021 is offered only at through merit secured by applicants.

Ques 6: Can I take admission in two different/same courses in different colleges after the declaration of a cutoff?

Ans. No, candidates cannot take admission simultaneously in two different courses or the same courses in different colleges. In case a candidate has taken admission at two places, the admission will be cancelled from both the colleges/courses.

Ques 7: Is a candidate required to be present in person on the day of admission?

Ans. Yes, the applicant must be present on the day of admission in the college along with the desired documents to get the same verified.
