Eligibility Criteria

Admission Process

Candidates need to visit the official website of the National School of Drama and fill out the online application form which costs about Rs 50. Alternatively, candidates can also fill out this application form in offline mode by writing to the Dean of the National School of Drama containing a demand draft of Rs 250 in favour of “Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi”.

The selection decision is made on the basis of the preliminary examinations which are conducted by the school itself and measures the candidates on different aspects of their theatrical knowledge. The exams are conducted in 12 exam centres which are spread all over the country.

Admission to this school is a two-step process-

  1. The preliminary exam.
  2. Candidates who pass the exam appear for the second phase of the test which consists of a 5-day theatre examination workshop inside the campus itself.
