Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is a state government body that conducts competitive exams to fill various posts in Madhya Pradesh government departments. The pattern followed in the MPPSC exam is similar to that of the Civil Services exam which is held at a national level. Departments 

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts an array of entrance exams to recruit candidates in various departments like forests, engineering, revenue, police, justice, public departments, etc. Some of which have listed below:

  • Scientific Officer
  • Sub-Inspector
  • Assistant Geologist and Horticulturist

MPPSC Exam: Notification 2020

On account of the Model Code of Conduct which was imposed during the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019, the prelims of the MPPSC exam was postponed and will now be conducted on January 12th, 2020. The other important dates for the exam have been tabulated below:

Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the reputed MPPSC exam, the candidates are required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria which have been tabulated below:

Age Minimum: 21 yearsMaximum: 35 years (Madhya Pradesh Permanent Residents) or 30 years (others)*
Married StatusMale applicants having more than one living wife are ineligible.
Female applicants married to a person already having a living wife are ineligible.
Educational QualificationGraduate/ Professional/ Technical degree holder in any discipline and recognized by the State Government

MPPSC Exam Pattern

The MPPSC exam loosely follows the pattern of the Civil Services Exam which is conducted by UPSC. This test is divided into three sections, namely prelims, mains, and interview. While the Prelims section is objective-based and carries a total valuation of 400 marks. The Mains section is subjective and is divided into six papers out of which, four are general studies, one Hindi Language Paper and a Hindi Comprehension Paper.

MPPSC Exam Syllabus
