Describe a time you visited a new place

Q- Describe a time you visited a new place.

You should say:

  • Where is the new place?
  • When did you go there?
  • Why did you go there?
  • And explain how you feel about the place.

A- I am going to talk about the trip I took last year. Being a hodophile, I enjoy visiting many new locations. However, I was quite worn out due to my inability to leave the house during the Corona pandemic. But as soon as the government loosened the lockdown rules, I decided to go outside and get some fresh air. I consequently started planning a vacation to Rishikesh, located in Uttarakhand.

I had intended to go on this trip as it is regarded as one of the oldest still-standing cities in human history. In addition, it has a lot to offer, beginning with the stunning sunrise at the Kunjapuri Devi temple that captivated me, followed by the captivating temples and the holy river Ganga, where I spent hours taking in the scenery and engaging in some boating activities. Also, the city is a marvel of architecture because it still has some of the finest works of art on the walls of historic structures like the Shree Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. The tranquil ambience at the Beatles Ashram was truly the cherry on top. I finally had the chance to eat some well-known street food exclusive to the city after taking a good tour. The mouthwatering treats, which ranged from flavorful Samosas to piping hot Aloo-Puri served as breakfast by the Ghat, truly left me speechless.
Not only this, I went there because Shehnaaz, one of my closest friends, told me it was a fantastic tourist destination with millions of people visiting every year. I had never taken a solo journey, so it was a wonderful experience altogether. Overall, I enjoyed my trip to this new location and found it quite invigorating.
