Scheduling GMAT Exam Dates
In order to understand the scheduling criteria specified for the GMAT, you can take a look at the Registration and Score Reporting Timeline given in the exam handbook. Below we have summarised the key essentials you need to keep in mind while scheduling the GMAT exam dates.
Gather Information
Before selecting a suitable exam date, you need to research the application deadlines of various business schools and universities across the globe. Also, keeping in mind those notifications, list down the different GMAT exam dates on which you can appear for the test. Along with this, gather information about the different research centres and ensure that your nearest exam centre is available for the date you have chosen. Further, the GMAC has also specified scheduling instructions for applicants with special needs or disabilities.
Prepare a Timeline
While scheduling an exam date for GMAT, make sure that you have created a preparation timeline. Also, if you have opted for the offline application procedure, spare some additional days before the exam date as your application sent via post will require time to reach the official admission centre.
Select the Suitable GMAT Exam Dates
There are 4 ways to schedule GRE Exam Dates:
- By Call: You need to make a phone call to the GMAT customer service belonging to your region.
- By Fax: Send the filled-out form via fax to the specified number of the GMAT admission centre.
- Online: Create an account at www.mba.com and carry out the scheduling procedure.
- By Post: For this, you are required to mail the filled-out form along with the payment to the GMAT admission centre address.
Note: For application methods other than post, the payment can be done through money order or debit, or credit card. Also, it is advised to ensure your details match and you are listed on the confirmation list for the exam.

GMAT Exam Pattern
Registration for the GMAT exam remains open throughout the year and GMAC witnesses an average of over 20,000 students appearing for this test every year. It is a computer-based examination that contains more than 80 questions that need to be completed within 3 hours and 7 minutes. Moreover, the GMAT exam pattern has 4 sections namely:
- Verbal Section
- Analytical Writing Assessment
- Quantitative Section
- Integrated Reasoning
As of the year 2021, the GMAC had recently introduced the ‘Select Section Order’ which allows the students to choose the sequence of the exam sections as per their preferences. The GMAT exam can be attempted a maximum of 5 times over 12 months with a minimum of 16-day gap in between each test. Also, the latest update in the exam also comprises the removal of the profile update questions that an examiner can attempt on the day of the test.
FAQs
