1502- Outlawing Islam 
Isabelle I, Queen of Castile issues an order to outlaw Islam forcing virtually every Muslim in Granada to convert to Christianity.

1541- Chile Founded
Pedro de Valdivia founded Santiago de Chile.

1593- Japanese Invasion of Korea
3000 Josean defenders successfully repeal 30,000 Japanese forces.

1733- Georgia Day
The state of Georgia was found by Englishman James Oglethorpe.

1771- King of Sweden
Gustav III became the King of Sweden.

1855- University in Michigan
Michigan State University is established.

1909- Civil Rights Foundation organized
NAACP (National Association of Advancement of Coloured People) is founded.

1912- End of Monarchy in China
The last emperor of China, Piyu, a Xuantong Emperor was abdicated on February 12 1912.

1915- Lincoln Memorial
The first stone for Lincoln Memorial is placed in Washington D.C.

1935- Airship crashing
USS Macon, one of the largest helium filled airships ever created, crashed into the Pacific Ocean and sank.

1946- World War II
Operation Deadlight ended on February 12 1946.

1946- Beginning of Civil Rights Movement
The incident that galvanized the Civil Rights Movement takes place. African American US Army Veteran Issac Woodard is brutally beaten by a South Carolina police officer to a point where he lost his vision.

1947- Paris reclaimed its throne
Christian Dior unveils ‘New Look’ that brought Paris back to the position of Fashion Capital of the World.

1961- Aircraft to Venus
Soviet Union launched Venera 1 towards Venus on February 12 1961.

1968- Korean Massacre
Phong Ni and Phong Nhat Massacre happened on February 12 1968.

1974- Nobel Prize winner exiled
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, winner of Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970 is exiled from the Soviet Union.

1983- Lahore Protest
One hundred women protest in Lahore, Pakistan against military dictator Zia-ul-Haq’s proposed law of Evidence. They manage to revoke the law.

1992- Constitution of Mongolia
The current constitution of Mongolia comes into force on February 12 1992.

1999- US President Bill Clinton’s Impeachment
United States President Bill Clinton is acquitted by the United States Senate for his impeachment trial.

2002- Trial of President of Republic of Yugoslavia
The trial of Slobodan Milošević, the former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, begins at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. 

2004- Same-sex Marriage allowance 
San Francisco issues marriage licensed to same-sex couples.

2016- First meeting of Catholic and Russian Churches
The first meeting of Catholic and Russian Orthodox Churches since their split in 1054.

2019- Republic of Macedonia renamed
The Republic of Macedonia renames itself as the Republic of North Macedonia resolving a long-standing dispute with Greece.
