After winning the tender now, the Danish study abroad organisation EDU will operate IELTS English tests in Norway. The test was previously co-owned by Folkeuniversitetet, IDP and Cambridge Assessment.
While talking to The PIE news the founder and general manager of EDU Danmark, Palle Steen Jensen, said, “We’ve been within Danish boundaries until now with recruitment and language testing.”
He added that this operation in Norway will be an “interesting new challenge” but there are no plans yet for the Danish agency to begin any student recruitment in the country. However, there is potential growth as IELTS is the most respected test internationally according to Jensen.
The test is expected to be helpful for everyone post-pandemic, also for Ukrainians in Norway to enter the labour market and also in case of UK Visas and Immigration for those who are planning to move to the UK.
Currently, North America has gained market share according to EDU Danmark. The organisation mentions the long period of closed international borders of Australia and New Zealand as the only reason that has shifted the majority of crowed to the USA and Canada.
Despite of this Jensen has asked everyone to be optimistic as he believes that Australia and New Zealand will recover from this loss in a year or half.
