Southern Cross University is a multi-campus university in Australia that was formally established on 1 January 1994 as the Lismore Teacher's College and was constituted as an independent University in 1994. In 2010, Southern Cross opened a new campus in the southern Gold Coast area of Queensland and a new Health Sciences building was opened at Coffs Harbour Campus in 2019. A young, progressive and internationally connected institution, Southern Cross University is affiliated with the Regional Universities Network. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings place the University in brackets #601-800 and at #30 in Australia, while according to QS World University Rankings, Southern Cross is placed in brackets #701-750.

Southern Cross University has campuses located in Gold Coast, Coffs Harbor, and Lismore. The University offers 11 distinct subject areas to choose from, including Business, Tourism, Science, Hospitality, and Engineering, Education and Teaching, Law, Health, Music and Creative Arts, Information Technology, Arts and Humanities, and more. Apart from the aforementioned degrees, this university also offers specialized degrees in Osteopathy, Indigenous Knowledge, Midwifery, Marine Science, and Psychology, offering a mix of subjects to choose from.
