I wanted to discuss an environmental issue – the harmful effects of using plastic as it has been on my mind lately. As you know, plastic has become an integral part of our daily lives, but its convenience comes at a significant cost to our environment. Plastic pollution is wreaking havoc on our oceans, marine life, and ecosystems. Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste end up in the ocean, causing harm to marine animals who mistake it for food or become entangled in it as it is non-biodegradable.  Therefore, I believe we must take action to reduce our plastic consumption and opt for more sustainable alternatives whenever possible. This could mean using reusable bags and water bottles, avoiding single-use plastics like straws and cutlery, and supporting businesses that prioritize eco-friendly packaging. I understand that making these changes may not always be convenient, but the long-term benefits to our planet far outweigh any temporary inconvenience.
