For ME/MTech Students:

The students in M.Sc. programs will get 3 merit scholarships per year and program. The scholarships will cover full, half, and quarter tuition fees respectively, for students of the general category. The scholarships have the following criteria:
- For first-year students, the scholarships will be based on their CGPA in the 1st semester. The scholarships will be given in the 2nd semester.
- For second-year students, the scholarships will be based on their AGPA in the 1st year. The eligible students should have an AGPA of at least 8.00 and no backlog or failed courses in the previous semester(s).
- The scholarships will be given only if there are at least 5 students registered in a discipline.
For MCA Students:
MCA students will get a scholarship of INR 40,000 pa (10% of the admitted strength) in the following manner:
- In the first year, the scholarship will be given in the 2nd semester based on their CGPA in the 1st semester.
- In the next year, the scholarship will be given based on their AGPA in the previous year.
- The students should have an AGPA of at least 8 and no backlog or failed courses in the earlier semester(s) to be eligible for the scholarship.
Thapar University Scholarships: Selection Process
The DoAA will announce the Thapar University scholarships for B.E./ B.Tech., LEET, MCA and M.Sc. programs every year. If a student rejects it (or does not get it for some reason), the next student on the approved list will get the scholarship. The scholarship will last for one academic year. The scholarship will be taken away from a recipient found guilty of gross misconduct after due warning. The DoAA will report the case and the Deputy Director will make the final decision regarding the continuation of the scholarship.
