AWES Scholarship 2023: How to Apply, Dates, Amount, Eligibility

The Army Welfare Education Society, a registered organisation under the Indian Societies Registration Act, administers the AWES Scholarship programme. This scholarship is also known as Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) and the aim is to provide financial support to the children of Army personnel for their higher study. What is AWES Scholarship?

This scholarship scheme caters to the wards of Serving Army Personnel below 25 years of age studying in recognized schools and institutions across India. ESSA scholarship is disbursed annually at the School, Graduation, and Postgraduate levels, serving as a motivating factor for these deserving students.

ESSA Scholarship Awards 

Due to the pan-Indian reach of the AWES Scholarship programme, eligible students from all parts of the country are given equitable access to educational opportunities. The ESSA scholarship ensures that financial limitations do not prevent students from pursuing their education by offering financial help to pay tuition costs, books, and other educational expenditures.

ESSA Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a dependent ward of Army personnel (serving or retired).
• The applicant must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination (10+2/graduation)
• The student must have taken admission in a recognized college or university for a professional course.
