Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship: Overview

The Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship is a merit-cum-means based program that aims to support the education of students from economically weaker sections of society. It covers the tuition fee of various courses from Class 6-12 to the undergraduate level.

This scholarship is offered by Tata Capital Limited, a financial services company of Tata Group, as part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative.

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for students applying for the Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship under various categories:

For students of Class 6 to 12

1. The applicant must be an Indian national studying in Class 6 to 12 in a recognized educational institution in India. 

2. The applicant must have scored at least 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination. 

3. The applicant’s annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 4,00,000 (4 lakh) from all sources.

For students of general undergraduate courses

1. The applicant must be an Indian national enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme such as BCom, BSc, BBA, etc. in a recognized institute in India.

2.  The applicant must have passed Class 12 in 2020 with at least 60% marks. 

3. The applicant’s annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 4,00,000 (4 lakh) from all sources.

For students of professional undergraduate courses

1. The applicant must be an Indian national enrolled in a professional undergraduate degree programme such as Engineering, Medical, Law, etc. in a recognized institute in India. 

2. The applicant must have passed Class 12 in 2020 with at least 60% marks. 

3. The applicant’s annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 4,00,000 (4 lakh) from all sources.

Note: The employees of Tata Capital & Buddy4Study children are not eligible for this scholarship.

Documents Required

Candidates applying for this scholarship need to have the following documents ready. These documents must be scanned and uploaded in PDF or JPEG format:

Passport size photograph

Fee receipt of the ongoing academic year

Proof of Identity – Aadhaar card

Income proof – salary slips, Form 16A, income certificate from a government authority, etc.

Marksheets of previous class

Admission Proof – School/college ID card/bonafide certificate, etc

Bank account details of the candidate, etc

Application Process

Here’s how you can apply for the Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship online:

1. Visit the Buddy4Study portal and click on the “Apply Now” button.
2. Register yourself on the portal by providing your name, email, mobile number, and password. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number to verify your account.
3. Login to the portal with your registered email and password and start filling out the application form. You will need to provide your personal details, academic details, family details, bank details, etc.
4. Upload the required documents in PDF or JPEG format. The documents include an Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, mark sheets, income certificate, bank account details, etc. The size of each document should not exceed 2 MB.
5. Review your application form and check all the details carefully. Agree to the terms and conditions and click on the “Preview” button. You can edit your application if you find any errors or discrepancies.
6. Submit your application by clicking on the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation message and email on your registered mobile number and email ID.

Selection Process

The students are selected for the Pankh Scholarship based on their academic merit and financial need. The selection process involves a multi-stage process as detailed below:

• Initial applicant shortlisting based on their academic merit and financial background.
• Document verification, as uploaded by the shortlisted applicants.
• Interview of the verified applicants by a panel of experts from Tata Capital and Buddy4Study.
• Final selection of the scholarship recipients based on the interview performance and the availability of funds.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship amount ranges from INR 10,000 to INR 50,000 or 80% of the total fee, whichever is less, depending on the category and course of the student. 

Last Date To Apply

Last year, the closing date for the application process for this scholarship was 31 August 2022. The dates regarding the application process for the year 2023-24 are yet to be announced on the official website.
