The full form of MMR is Measles, Mumps and Rubella. MMR are three viral diseases that can be prevented through vaccination. Moreover, the MMR vaccine is a combined vaccine that protects against these three infectious diseases. Thus, the vaccine is commonly administered during childhood to provide immunity and prevent the occurrence and spread of measles, mumps, and rubella in human beings.

What is the Age Limit for the MMR Vaccine?

The first dosage of the MMR vaccine is given at the minimum age of 12 months. Additionally, the second dosage needs to be between 4 to 6 years of age. However, the maximum age limit is 12 years for the vaccine. Though, it cannot be given to anyone at the age of 13 or above.

What are the Common Side Effects of the MMR Vaccine?

Consequently, the common side effects of the MMR Vaccine are as follows:

  • Short-term stiffness and pain in the joints usually occur in women or teenagers who do not have immunity to the rubella aspect of the vaccine

  • Mild rash
