Importance of OET Exam in Detail

The OET English language exam is best for healthcare professionals who wish to study or work abroad. The exam is applicable in countries like Australia, Canada, Ireland, Maldives, Malta, Namibia, New Zealand, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Ukraine, the UK, UAE and the USA. OET tests are held about twice a month, using two methods: OET on paper and eleven times OET on a computer.

How to Check and Book OET Exam Dates?

To check and book for the OET exam dates, the candidate must go through the following steps:

Register Early: Make sure you register for the OET exam early by filling up the required forms.

Visit the Official Website: Go to the official OET website to view the latest exam schedule. However, we have already provided the schedule for the exam for Indian students above.

Select your test type: Choose between the following options through which you wish to take the exam: paper-based test, computer-based test or at-home testing. 

Choose your location: OET is offered in numerous countries worldwide, so select a test centre near you.

Eligibility Criteria for OET Exam

As per the official website of OET, there is no proper information on the eligibility requirements for all those applicants who want to take the OET exam. Therefore, a candidate will qualify for the exam as long as his career goal is to work in the healthcare industry. OET Exam Pattern

Before you sit for the OET English language exam, the candidate needs to be aware of the exam pattern and where they should work on themselves. For all those unaware, the OET exam is divided into four sections: the Listening Section, which is 40 minutes long and has three parts; the Reading Section, which is 60 minutes long and has three parts; the Writing Section, which is 45 minutes long and asks candidates to write a letter of recommendation; and the Speaking Section, which asks candidates to act out a scene from the healthcare environment in two minutes.

Speaking20 MinutesThere are two role-play tasks for each profession based on typical workplace situations. In each role-play, the candidate takes the role of the professional (for example, as a nurse or as a pharmacist), while the interlocutor takes the role of a patient, a client, or a patient’s relative or carer. Tips for Tackling OET Exam 2025

Here are some of the tips on how you can tackle the OET exam this year meticulously.

  1. Align with your preparation: Ensure you have ample time to study and practice before booking for the OET exam.
  2. Check deadlines: Registration closes approximately three weeks before the test date. Make sure you apply for the exam timely without any delay.
  3. Consider your schedule: Pick a date that doesn’t conflict with your work or personal commitments.
  4. Factor in result timelines: If you need your OET results for visa or job applications, choose a date that allows enough time for processing.

OET Exam Results

OET (Occupational English Test) exam results are available online and can be accessed through mail as well. The candidates can access their results in your OET account about 10 to 17 business days after taking the test. You’ll receive an email when your results are available.

  • OET on Computer: Results are available within 10 days of the test date
  • OET on Paper: Results are available 17 days after the test date.

  • Each sub-test is scored on a scale of 0 to 500 in ten-point increments
