About ETH Zurich
ETH Zurich is a public research university located in Zurich, Switzerland. ESOP Scholarship
The ESOP scholarship supports students with a scholarship, mentorship, and a network of the ETH Foundation. It covers the entire study and living cost of the student during their Master’s Degree. The scholarship sponsors the studies of selected students worth CHF 12,000 (INR 9,75,551) per semester and also allows a tuition fee waiver.
Scholaship Value
The Excellence Scholarship consists of a grant covering living and study expenses covering CHF 11,000 per semester as well as a tuition fee waiver. The Master Scholarship consists of a partial stipend for living and study expenses covering CHF 6,000 per semester as well as a tuition fee waiver. The department can also provide a scholarship of CHF 1,500 – 3,000 per semester or offer an assistantship with a payment of CHF 600 per month,
Eligibility
The following are the minimum eligibility requirements for applying to this scholarship:
- Graduating in the top 10% of your Bachelor’s degree programme
- A resume/CV with an email address and mobile number as the process
- Might require an interview to be conducted.
- A pre-proposal document is also needed
Duration
ESOP is awarded for the duration of the Master’s program at ETH Zurich i.e. three or four semesters and for 2 years.

The Applications are supplied through the eApply portal. This also applies to the ETH bachelor’s students and consecutive Master’s programs.

The applications are accepted for the academic year due to begin in the following year (autumn semester) during the international application window (November to mid-December). Applications must be submitted via eApply. Applications for the spring semester are reserved for ETH Zurich students only.
The grant is paid out in three or four installments. Each individual installment is issued at the beginning of the semester. You must have completed your semester enrolment in order to receive these payments.
The ETH Excellence Scholarship program lasts for the standard duration of your chosen Master’s program.
It is not possible to transfer the grant to a different study program than the one originally chosen. In order to get the scholarship for another program, you will have to apply all over again.
No, the grant will be suspended. However, your tuition fees will continue to be waived. If your semester on exchange prolongs the duration of your studies, the grant will be based on the standard number of semesters required to complete your study program.
