Columbia College to begin for upcoming intake hosting international students
Starting in the spring semester of 2023, international students will be welcomed at Columbia College, as per officials.

Columbia College officials have confirmed that the college will start hosting international students from 2023, starting in the Spring Semester.

International students on nonimmigrant F-1 visas will be welcomed to the college and they will be allowed to pursue AS or AA degrees at Columbia.

AS and AA are associate degrees with AS standing for Associate in Science, and AA standing for Associate in Arts.

What’s more is that international students will be required to enrol in a minimum of 12 units per semester. Satisfactory academic progress and performance are other factors that international students need to maintain while they work to pursue their first year in college.

When it comes to working, international students will only be allowed to take on-campus employment during their first year of college. If they continue to work off-campus after that, it shall be in accordance with their chosen course of study and must be approved by Columbia College Designated School Official.

It has been a long process of getting approval to host international students in the college. It is to be noted that Dr. Melissa Raby, Vice President of Student Services, was the one who petitioned for Columbia College to accept F-1 nonimmigrant students. She managed to see it happen through the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP). Next, the site visit subsequently happened in 2021 and the approval was granted in 2022.

Reflecting on the same, new and new intakes involving international students are being welcomed in colleges all around the globe. It’s a great opportunity for international students to step into every corner of the world.
