History, Affiliations and Rankings
In 1973, the IE University was established in Madrid, Spain as a graduate professional school for business and law with the purpose of encouraging entrepreneurship through its numerous programs. The first undergraduate program was introduced in 2006, and has since, developed a number of international agreements with other universities throughout the years, including a joint MBA programme with Brown University and an Asian-focused program with Singapore Management University. Since its conception, the University has grown and consolidated worldwide recognition becoming the #1 among universities in Spain, and #3 worldwide for its Bachelor of Business Administration program. IE University has affiliations with Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs. The University ranks in the bracket #201-300 in Times Higher Education’s Impact Rankings 2022.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
IE University campus offers an authentic campus experience in the medieval Spanish town of Segovia. The university has campuses in Madrid, the Comunidad de Madrid, and Segovia, Castile and León, Spain. Right at the doorstep of the main campus, students will be able to witness Disney-esque castles, gothic cathedrals and magnificence of history, culture and architecture of the town. The programs of IE University are offered in both English and Spanish and are consistent with the European Higher Education Area's standards. IE offers Undergraduate, Graduate, Dual degrees and combined Bachelor’s+Master’s programs across 7 subject areas - Business and Management, Talent and Leadership Development, Finance, Economics and Trade, Technology and Data, Marketing, Communication and Sales, Design and Architecture, and Law, International Affairs and Public Policy.
