Conceptualised and launched by PRS Legislative Research in 2010, the LAMP Fellowship is a unique program that empowers young Indians to engage in national policy-making. Eligibility Criteria

Roles & Responsibilities of a Lamp Fellow

Lamp Fellows support their assigned MPs by conducting in-depth research on a variety of topics, including food security, defence, and economics. They also thoroughly research and prepare background information for conferences and media events the MP attends. Their responsibilities include:

• Conducting legislative research
• Analysing data
• Drafting parliamentary questions
• Conducting background research for debates
• Drafting private member bills
• Providing background work for the MP’s media conferences and TV appearances
• Interacting with stakeholders

Salary of a Lamp Fellow

Lamp fellowship grants reimbursements of up to INR 23,000 per month during the fellowship to selected individuals.
