About Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship India is a program that offers scholarships, mentorships, and internships to female students who are pursuing computer science or related engineering courses in India. In collaboration with the Foundation for Excellence, Amazon Future Engineer is an initiative of Amazon to allow the learning and career development of young Indians in this field. The program aims to support and empower the students who have academic excellence and financial need, and to inspire them to pursue their passion for technology. 

Eligibility Criteria

To avail of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, applicants need to fulfil the following eligibility and financial criteria. 

1. The applicant must be female pursuing a professional degree (BE/BTech) in any of the courses listed below:

• Computer Science And Engineering
• Information And Communication Technology
• Information Science
• Information Science And Engineering
• Information Technology

2. The applicant must be in the first year of their BE/BTech course.
3. The applicant must have cleared their Higher Secondary / Pre-University / Intermediate/CBSE/ISC/equivalent board qualifying examination after 2020.
4. Admission to professional degree courses/institutions based on the merit rank obtained in the entrance exams at the state/national level, or the counselling process at the state level.
5. The applicant should have an annual family income of less than INR 3 LPA (education and occupation of other family members will also be taken into consideration).

Note: Students admitted to BE/BTech courses after their diploma are not eligible for this scholarship.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship: Awards, Benefits

If the applicant fulfils the eligibility criteria for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, they receive INR 40,000-50,000 per year until their graduation. The continuation of the scholarship depends on the candidate’s performance through their studies and the program’s continuation by Amazon.

Application Process

To apply for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, applicants must follow the steps given below:

1. Go to the scholarship’s official website.
2. Click on the button below that says ‘Apply Now’.
3. You can also sign in to Buddy4Study using your registered ID to access the ‘Application Form Page’.
4. If you do not have a registered ID, you can create one at Buddy4Study using your Email/Mobile/Gmail account.
5. After signing in, you will be taken to the ‘Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship’ page.
6. Press the button that says ‘Apply Now’.
7. Fill in the necessary details in the initial application form.
8. Upload the relevant documents.
9. Submit your application.

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship: Selection Process

The selected students for the Amazon Future Engineer receive a scholarship of INR 40,000-50,000 per year for 4 years, a mentorship from Amazon engineers, and an internship opportunity at Amazon India. But here’s how the selection process of eligible candidates for the scheme goes:

1. Students submit AFE – FFE Scholarship applications online through the website of the Foundation for Excellence (FFE).
2. Once their eligibility is decided, students are connected to one of FFE’s distributed network of volunteer “Facilitators” in 27 states. 
3. Facilitators virtually meet with prospective students or their family members to assess their genuine needs and financial hardship.
4. The selection process begins with a review of applications by Amazon professionals, looking for qualities such as academic excellence, leadership skills, community involvement and demonstrated financial need. 
5. After that, finalists are selected based on their essays about how technology can be used to solve real-world problems.
6. Apart from the award, candidates also get exposure to the Amazon business through fireside chats with senior leaders and Amazonians, interactions with technology teams, and skills-building hackathons.

Scholarship Payment Process

The scholarship payments are handled by the Foundation for Excellence on Amazon’s behalf. The organization pays the scholarship amount in one instalment before 31 March every year.
