Kanya Utthan Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria
The Kanya Utthan Scholarship aims to eradicate gender discrimination by encouraging the girlchild to pursue their education post-12th standard. However, the applicants need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to avail of this scholarship:
- The applicant must be a female.
- The applicant must be a native of Bihar residing in the state.
- Only 2 girl children from a family can benefit from this scholarship.
- The applicant’s parents must not be government employees.
- The applicant must come from the EWS category.
- The applicant must have scored first division in the 12th standard.
- Only the applicants who have passed Class 12 in the year 2023 can apply.
Kanya Utthan Scholarship: Application Process
To apply for the Kanya Utthan Scholarship in 2023, here are the steps that you need to follow:
- Go to the official website of Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana.
- Search for the “CM Kanya Utthan Yojana”.
- Apply for the “CM Girl Child (Graduate) Incentive Scheme”
- Click on the link for “Student registration and login”.
- A new screen will appear with a link labelled “Important instructions for Filling Online Application”. Read the instructions carefully.
- After that, click on the “Register here” link to start the registration process.
- You will receive an email containing your Registration ID and password.
- Fill out the application form with all the necessary details and documents.
- Submit the form and print out a copy for future reference.

Kanya Utthan Scholarship: Benefits
Nearly 1.5 crore girls in Bihar stand to benefit from Kanya Utthan Scholarship. If found eligible, the applicants receive an amount of INR 50,000 throughout their lifetime i.e. from birth to graduation. The amount is disbursed to the selected candidates in instalments as given below:
