Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE), the Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET) is a state-level entrance exam. This exam is conducted primarily to enrol students into various UG and PG courses available in institutions that are affiliated with either Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) or Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) or other UPCET participating institutions.
Now, candidates aspiring to get admitted to the aforementioned institutes have to apply by partaking in the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) UG/PG exams conducted by the National Testing Agency. The Common University Entrance Test, earlier known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test is an all-India test being organised by the National Testing Agency for admission to various undergraduate, integrated, postgraduate, diploma, and certification courses and research programmes in 45 Central Universities of India.

Prospective candidates can apply by partaking in the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) UG/PG exams conducted by the National Testing Agency. UPCET 2023 Application Form
Applicants preparing for the UPCET 2023 (admission through CUET UG) exam are required to submit their application forms online at upsee.nta.nic.in; between the first week of April 2023 to the fourth week of May 2023. The correction window for the UPCET 2023 exam application form will be opened (by the conducting body) after the UPCET registrations are over.
Candidates who want to get enrolled through the CUET PG exam must apply for the same between the third week of May 2023 to the third week of June 2023.
As for the submission process, it is a mandate for applicants to fill in the required credentials such as their name, father’s name, and mother’s name, and scanned documents like photographs, mark sheets, and signatures.
Application Fee
Once applicants are done filling in their application forms, it is mandatory for them to pay the requisite application fee. UPCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Conducting bodies predominantly set the eligibility criteria for an examination to evaluate or assess an applicant’s academic prowess and competence. Similar to other government exams, the UPCET exam encompasses its own set of prescribed eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidates in order to be deemed eligible. The course-wise eligibility criteria are given below:
For B.Arch
- Candidates should have passed their higher secondary class (12th standard) from any renowned academic institution in the state of Uttar Pradesh (or any other Indian state).
- Must have scored a minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology (without any grace).
- Applicants must be holding a three-year course diploma in Architecture from any renowned academic institution (recognized by the State/Central Government). The minimum required score to be deemed eligible is 50% marks.
For B.Des
- Applicants must have passed their higher secondary class (12th standard) from any renowned academic institution in the state of Uttar Pradesh (or any other Indian state), with a minimum aggregate score of 45 % marks (40 % marks for candidates belonging to the ST/SC category) in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology (without any grace).
For B.Pharma
- Candidates must have qualified for their 12th board examination with a minimum aggregate score of 45 % marks (40% for the SC/ST category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
For MBA
- Applicants prospecting to get enrolled in MBA are required to hold an undergraduate/bachelor’s degree of 3 years from a renowned university.
- Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate score of 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in their undergraduate examination.

UPCET 2023 Exam Pattern
As of 2023, the said exam will be conducted across 61 cities in India. Candidates preparing for the said exam are advised to constantly visit the official website for updates on admit cards and answer sheets. The test will be set up as an objective test with solely multiple-choice questions. The answer key and result will be released by the NTA (online) on its official website.

UPCET 2023 Admit Card
Candidates appearing for the UPCET 2023 exam will receive their admit cards in the second week of June 2023.
