Overview of PGIMER Exam 2023

PGIMER stands for Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. The PGIMER exam is a national-level postgraduate exam for students to pursue BSc in Nursing, a four-year-long program and MSc in Nursing, a two-year-long master’s program. Through PGIMER, the admission of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs will be conducted.

PGIMER Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must meet the following requirements to be eligible for PGIMER Exam 2023:

For BSc Nursing

QualificationMust have completed 10+2 from a recognised board
Subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
Gender Female (only eligible to apply)
Marks Min. of  50% aggregate 
Age limit 17-35 years (as of 31st December 2023)

For BSc Post Basic Nursing 

QualificationMust have completed 10+2 from a recognised board
Marks Must have passed general nursing and midwifery with min. of 50% aggregate 
Registration Must have registered as a nurse and midwifery
Age limitNot be more than 45 years (as of 1st September 2023)

MSc Nursing 

Qualification Must have BSc Nursing, BSc Post Basic Nursing degree from a recognised board 
Marks  min. of 55% in the qualifying exam

PGIMER Exam 2023 Application Process

Aspirants can visit the official website to apply for the exam. The following are the steps to apply for PGIMER Exam 2023:

  • Visit the website and click on “log in” to register
  • After login, a registration number will be generated
  • Enter the required details: name, ID, gender, date of birth, etc
  • Fill in the examination details and select your preference for the examination city
  • Upload the scanned documents including scanned photographs and signature 
  • After uploading the documents, make the required payment
  • Recheck all the information you have entered 
  • Print out the application form for future use

PGIMER Exam 2023 Admit Card

The admit card will be released in the last week of May 2023. The candidate can log in using their ID and password to download the admit card. Admit card for BSc Nursing and BSc Post-Basic Nursing in the first week of July 2023. Admit cards will only be available for students who have filled out the application form accurately. Also, the students will be required to bring the admit card and one ID proof to the examination centre.

The following are the tips to prepare for the PGIMER exam 2023:

  • Students should make themselves aware of the syllabus, updates and exam pattern
  • Prepare well by practising mock tests
  • Go through previous years’ question papers and sample papers

PGIMER Exam 2023 Result

The result for the MSc Nursing is expected to release around the last week of June 2023 and the result for BSc Nursing and BSc Post-Basic Nursing is expected to release around the first week of August 2023. Moreover, candidates can log in using their roll number and password to the result, available in the form of a merit list. The candidate can download the result in PDF format.
