1946- Interim Government of India
The Interim Government of India was formed that was headed by Jawaharlal Nehru as vice president with powers of a Prime Minister.

2009- Helicopter Crash in Andhra Pradesh
An Indian helicopter crashed in Andhra Pradesh, India that occurred near Rudrakonda Hill that led to the fatality of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

1649- Castro was Destroyed
The Italian city of Castro was destroyed by the forces of Pope Innocent X ending the war of Castro. 

1792- September Massacre of the French Revolution
Rampaging mobs slaughtered three Roman Catholic bishops, more than two hundred priests and prisoners at what came to be known as the September Massacre of the French Revolution

NASA announced the cancellation of two Apollo missions to the Moon, Apollo 15 and Apollo 18.

1998- Swissair Flight crashed 
A Swissair flight crashed near Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia killing 229 people onboard.

2019- Hurricane Dorian
A category 5 hurricane, Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas killing at least five.
