Anirban Lahiri: Early life
Anirban Lahiri was born on 29 June 1987 in Pune, Maharashtra. Anirban Lahiri is the son of Dr Tushar Lahiri, and he commenced playing golf at the age of eight. His father is a general physician in the armed forces, and he is the main driving force behind Anirban Lahiri’s success as a golfer. Tushar Lahiri exclaims that Anirban Lahiri used to pick up the golf balls for him and he used to play with them for 15 minutes before the night crept in. In 2015, Lahiri won the Maybank Malaysian Open and the Hero Indian Open on the European Tour. With this victory, he became the third Indian, after Jeev Milkha Singh and Arjun Atwal, to compete in the Master’s Tournament.
