Founded in 1907, Mannheim's first School of Commerce quickly grew into a thriving higher education institution. In 1933, the School was merged with the University of Heidelberg and the institution went through a series of identities before officially designated a university in 1967.The university is associated with AACSB; AMBA; CFA Institute; Council on Business & Society; DFG; EQUIS; ENTER; German Universities Excellence Initiative; IAU; IBEA. Infrastructure, Courses and Campuses
The University has two types of campuses ,Campus East, from Mannheim Palace to Mannheim Main Station, and Campus West, consisting of the squares A5 and B6 which are within walking distance to the palace. The university of Mannheim gradually offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in business administration, economics, law, social sciences, humanities, mathematics, computer science and information systems every year from all over the world. The prominence of the University of Mannheim has always remained in business and economics, although teaching was expanded to further disciplines. Master's programs include Mannheim Master in Management; and Master in Economic and Business Education. The university also offers study programs in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Romance Studies, History, English Studies, German Studies and Business Informatics. The university's campus is located in the city center of Mannheim and its main campus is in the Mannheim Palace.
