History, Affiliations and Rankings

Rivier University was founded in 1933 in Hudson, New Hampshire, and relocated to its current Nashua campus in 1941. A four-year Catholic university, it was incorporated in 1935 under the laws of the state of New Hampshire, and it was granted the authority to bestow Graduate and Undergraduate degrees under two different charters. Since its conception, the University has been dedicated to providing a holistic education of "mind, body and spirit" in a welcoming community comprising students from around the world. Rivier University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education, Inc. (NECHE). Education programs are approved by the N.H. Department of Education, Division of Higher Education, and Higher Education Commission. Rivier University is ranked #131-171 in Regional Universities North by US News and World Report 2022 rankings.

Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses

The 68-acre Rivier University campus is situated in the heart of New England, close to beaches, mountains, and only a few miles away from the major cities in the USA, including Boston, Hartford, Manchester and Portland. The campus has cutting-edge facilities, labs, and resources to guarantee that students are prepared for the workforce of the 21st century. Further, Nashua, New Hampshire, also known as the "Gate City" of the United States, has been named the "Best Place to Live in America" by Money Magazine twice. More than 70 programs leading to Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees are offered by Rivier.

Accomplishments and Alumni 

The University had an outstanding academic year, celebrating the completion of its new 36,000 square-foot Science and Innovation Centre in the autumn and being honoured by Business NH's and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' Education Business of the Year for 2021. Among Rivier's graduates are nine Project Advance scholarship students who entered as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) employed at Catholic Charities New Hampshire rehabilitation and long-term care nursing centres. More than 23,000 graduates are impacting hearts and minds all across the world. The Alumni Association is represented by the Alumni Council, which encourages alumni involvement.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

There are 2,238 total student populations (Undergraduate, Professional Studies, Graduate, and Doctoral students) at the University. The overall student body comprises international students from Bangladesh, India, China, Nepal, Nigeria, South Korea, Turkey and other countries. The Office of Multicultural Student Engagement is dedicated to comprehensive student development and hosts events on topics like diversity, multiculturalism, inclusion, social justice, intersectionality, globalization, and internationalism.  There are about 17 clubs and societies for the students to explore and enrich their experience at the University. The University's Conference Services creates a platform for local businesses and community organisations to hold meetings and conferences. Some of the top employers are Oracle Corporation, Maxim Healthcare Services, Monadnock Community Hospital, Foundation Medical Partners and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
