Founded by George Pepperdine in 1937, Pepperdine University is one of the world’s leading universities in recent times. It is a Christian University with a main campus in Malibu. The mission of the university is to excel in the academic field and provide Christian values to students from around the globe. Here, students are trained for living life in a better way. Pepperdine University is affiliated with the Churches of the Christ. The university serves to offer opportunities to the students for their personal growth and development. It runs a semester-based academic curriculum. Pepperdine University is famous for its location too. It is mandatory for students to attend 14 spiritual events per semester and take at least three religion courses during their whole university life. The university has students from around 80 countries around the world. The motto of the university is “Freely ye receive, freely give.” The university is positioned at #49 in National Universities and at #23 in Best Colleges for Veterans. Also, it is ranked #13 in the list of Best Undergraduate Teaching.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
Pepperdine University has a huge campus of about 830 acres. It is equipped with academic buildings, administration facilities, athletic facilities, streets and landmarks. It has Black Family Plaza Classrooms, Centre of Communication, Cultural Arts Centre, Harnish Law Library, Department of Public Safety, Heritage hall, Student Health Centre, Firestone Fieldhouse, Brock House, Peppers House, and many more facilities. The university has 4 campuses, Malibu Campus, West Los Angeles Graduate Campus, Calabasas Campus, and Irvine graduate campus Lakeshore Towers III building. The university also has 5 schools, Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, Caruso School of Law, Graziadio Business School, Graduate School of Education and Psychology and School of Public Policy. The university offers a wide range of courses such as Business Administration, Communication, Humanities and Teacher Education, International Studies and Languages, Social Science and many more. The courses also include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Education, Master of Business Administration, Master of Legal Studies, Teacher Education Programs, Accounting, Advertising, Biology, Chemistry, Creative writing, Cyber risk, and many more.
Accomplishments and Alumni
In 2019, the university was awarded the GOLD - CASE VII Awards of Excellence in the General Interest Magazine. In 2018, Pepperdine University was awarded SILVER - CASE VII Awards of Excellence in the General Interest Magazine. The university took an initiative to inspire women and male allies by the GSEP Centre for Global Partnership and Learning in the spring 2021. In winter 2021, Seaver College created a new Student Fellowship for Equity and Social Justice program to support two seniors in pursuit of equity and social justice projects. The university has a total of 1,33,116 alumni as of July 2021. Some of the alumni are Brandon Armstrong (former professional basketball player), Chris DeRose (Clerk of the Superior Court of Maricopa County, Arizona), Kevin A. Short (painter and printmaker), Joel Widzer (author and correspondent, MSNBC), Kate Mansi (television actress), Neil Clark Warren (Chairman and co-founder of eHarmony.com), Michael Shermer (Founder of The Skeptics Society).

As of the fall of 2021, the total applications with the university were 12,934. Out of which, 11,343 were domestic applications and 1,591 were international applications. 1,209 students were enrolled.
