The Colorado State University dates back to 1870, when the institution was founded as the Agricultural College of Colorado. The former President, Elijah Edwards, with two faculty members opened doors to the University for the first time in 1879, when the CSU’s first five students were enrolled. A top public research university in Colorado and the world, Colorado State University is an institution on the rise today, producing record enrollment since the last decade. Not only is CSU a research powerhouse, but is also one of the State's economic engines, actively driving the State's economic growth through its impactful research. The University is regionally accredited, meaning that it carries the highest level of accreditation available in the United States. CSU is also accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. CSU is also one of the space-grant colleges in the US and is affiliated with the Universities Research Association (URA). This public university has been ranked #431 by the QS World University Rankings 2022 and in the band #351-400 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the year 2022. 

Infrastructure, Campuses And Courses

Colorado State University’s main campus in Fort Collins is an urban green campus situated in one of the best college towns in the USA. The University has another campus called the Foothills campus. The 583-acres main campus at Fort Collins features vast green stretches lined with American Elm trees and also houses a Veterinary Hospital. Colorado State constitutes 8 Colleges offering Undergraduate, Graduate and Research programs across disciplines including, Agricultural Sciences, Business, Engineering, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, Natural Sciences, Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences and Natural Resources. Students can choose from 300 academic programs, that include more than 70 majors with 140 concentrations, 80 minors and pre-professional advising. CSU has a record of educating around 40,000 students annually.

Nine out of ten recent CSU graduates say that they would choose CSU again, with the University’s featured Student Satisfaction record of 85%. Consistently voted as America’s best-in-class University, Colorado State has a history of producing successful personalities across fields. The notable alumni of CSU include, Yusef Komunyakaa (American Poet and Professor at NYU), Walter Scott Jr. (American Billionaire Businessman), Becky Hammon (American-Russian Professional Basketball Coach), Polly Baca (American Politician), Leslie Jones (American Comedian and Actress) and other well-known personalities.

Student Diversity and Visiting Companies

About 70% of the total student population consists of whites, 3% Asian, 2% Black, 15% Hispanic and 4% international. Last fall, CSU welcomed more than 32,000 students including around 1700 international students from more than 100 countries. More than 1500 CSU students typically participate in education abroad. Colorado State University has a Career Centre dedicated to assisting students through their journey in securing employment after graduation. CSU frequently partners with government and non-government organizations to nurture innovative new ventures that help fuel the economy. Charles Schwab, Amazon, Microsoft and Oracle are some of the top recruiters at Colorado State.
