Tulane University was founded in 1884 in New Orleans in the USA as the University of Louisiana when a rich merchant named Paul Tulane gave nearly $1 million in cash, land, and stocks. Tulane has become a prominent member of the Association of American Institutions, a select club of 62 outstanding research universities in the United States and Canada, with over 180 years of experience. Tulane University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees.
