Citizens of Change Scholarship
Meant for: Any student with an offer from the University of Leicester
Amount/Benefit: 50% discount on first-year tuition fee.
Application Process:
- Make a short video (no longer than 60 seconds) that answers the question: “What do you want to change?”. The video should be in portrait mode – you can use TikTok or Instagram Reels to make it.
- Fill out the Citizens of Change Scholarship submission form and include your video URL. If you make your video on TikTok or Instagram, please tag @uniofleicester and #OursToChange.
- You can make the video without showing yourself on the screen, and you can also work with others to make the video (up to 5 people). You can also involve your friends, family, and pets in the video.
Science and Engineering International UG Merit Scholarship
Meant for: International students applying for an undergraduate degree in any of the schools within our College of Science and Engineering and paying international fees starting in January 2024, September 2024, or January 2025.
Amount/Benefit: University of Leicester Scholarships worth GBP 3000-5000
Eligibility Criteria: The amount of the scholarship depends on how much you exceed the standard A-level equivalent:
- GBP 3,000 per year – if you have two grades higher than the standard A-level equivalent.
- GBP 5,000 per year – if you have three grades higher than the standard A-level equivalent.
Application Process: Automatically processed along with enrollment in the course.
Terms and conditions:
- The scholarship will reduce your tuition fee based on the standard fee for each year of your course.
- The scholarship will not apply if you do an industrial placement or overseas exchange, repeat a year or pause your studies for any reason.
- You can only have one University of Leicester scholarship. If you get more than one scholarship, you will only get the one with the higher value.
- If you have a conditional offer from the University, you still need to meet any conditions stated in your offer letter.

Family Loyalty Discount
Meant for: Students having a sibling, spouse, or parent studying a full-time course at the University of Leicester now or having finished one before.
Amount/Benefit: 10% discount on the tuition fee for each year of your course
Eligibility Criteria: To get this discount:
- You and your relative must both pay international fees as an international student.
- Your relative must be studying a full-time course at the University of Leicester now or have completed one before
- Siblings can share one or both parents.
- Children/parents can be related by blood or by marriage.
- You must show documents (in English) that prove the family relationship, such as copies of birth or marriage certificate(s).
- You cannot get the Family Loyalty Discount if you already have another discount/scholarship from the University.
- You cannot become eligible for this discount by marrying someone who is studying at the University now.
Application Process: You need to download and fill out this form and mail it to [email protected]. along with the required evidence. It’s recommended to apply when you register for your course, or as soon as possible after that. Applications more than 4 months late from your course start date will not be accepted.
Law International UG Merit Scholarship
Meant for: Students paying international fees who have applied for a UG programme in the Leicester Law School.
Amount/Benefit: University of Leicester Scholarships worth GBP 3000-5000/year
Eligibility Criteria: You can get this scholarship based on your academic achievement that is equivalent to British A levels. The scholarship amount is:
- GBP 3,000/year – if you have two grades higher than the equivalent of standard A levels.
- GBP 5,000/year – if you have three grades higher than the equivalent of standard A levels.
JD Pathway and Graduate Entry merit scholarships will be based on the qualification that you used to get your offer.
Application Process: University of Leicester Scholarships are automatically processed along with enrollment in the course.
Terms and conditions:
- You cannot apply for this scholarship if you are applying for the LLB Maitrise.
- You must enroll in a full-time, campus-based undergraduate taught course in the Leicester Law School, starting in September 2024.

Meant for: Students applying for any UG degrees in the University of Leicester School of Media, Communications, and Sociology, and paying international fees.
