The Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh grants Samaj Kalyan Scholarships to Scheduled Caste (SC), and General Category students of Classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, undergraduate programmes, and postgraduate courses. The disbursed amount for both pre-matric and post-matric Samaj Kalyan Vibhag Scholarships are directly transferred to the bank account of students. Following are the provisions of both levels of scholarships by the Uttar Pradesh government: 

Pre-Matric Scholarship

  • Samaj Kalyan Vibhag Pre-Matric Scholarship in Uttar Pradesh is available for SC and General Category students of Uttar Pradesh enrolled in Classes 9th and 10th.
  • Students must pursue Classes 9th and 10th in Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) affiliated schools.
  • The annual income of the family, either SC or General, should not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum.
  • Students can apply for the same at samajkalyan.up.gov.in or scholarship.up.gov.in
  • The application period is July-September. Students are advised to check the official websites for exact dates. 

Post-Matric Scholarship

Under this scheme for post-matric courses, the Uttar Pradesh government provides scholarships at the intermediate level as well as undergraduate and postgraduate level courses. Following are the details for different academic levels:

The Social Welfare Department of Uttrakhand provides scholarships to SC, Backward Caste, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) students of the state under its Samaj Kalyan Vibhag Scholarship Schemes. These scholarships are available at pre-matric and post-matric levels.

The eligibility criteria for Mukhya Mantri Sarvjan Uchha Siksha Chhatravriti Yojana are as follows:
