PM Yashasvi Scholarship: Objective
Together with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E), the GoI launched the PM Yashasvi Scholarship. This scheme focuses on building an inclusive society by supporting and empowering the target groups through educational, economic and social development. Therefore, it provides financial support to the children from those target groups at the pre-matric and post-matric levels.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the PM Yashasvi Scholarship, the students need to fulfil the following criteria:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must be a student of Class 9 or 11.
- The applicant must be enrolled in a government-recognized school full-time.
- The applicant must belong to the following categories/tribes:
- Other Backward Class (OBC)
- Economically Backward Class (EBC)
- Nomadic and Semi-nomadic Tribes (S-NT)
- De-notified Tribes (DNT)
- The applicant must have a family annual income below INR 2.5 lakhs.
- The applicant must not be availing of any other scholarship.
