The Punjab TET Exam 2024 dates will be announced soon by the State Council of Educational Research, Punjab (SCER). According to last year trend, SCER Punjab will release the official notification in the second or third week of February 2024.

The purpose of the Punjab TET examination is directed towards recruiting candidates who clear the Punjab TET, as primary teachers for classes 1st to 5th and 6th to 8th standard, under the schools recognised by the Punjab government or private management. Punjab TET Exam Pattern

PSTET is an offline Pen and Paper Based test, organised into two papers Paper I deals with Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper II is based on the teaching syllabus from Class 6 to Class 8.

There is no negative marking in the exam and each correct answer is awarded a +1 Mark. All four exam sections have MCQ Questions and are to be completed in 120 minutes. The Marks and Question distribution across the various exam sections are given below.

PSTET 2024 Syllabus 📖

The PSTET examination will be constituted into two parts, which would be Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the Punjab TET are slightly different from each other, consisting of 5 and 6 subjects respectively. Candidates preparing for the PSTET exam are advised to focus on the given subjects very precisely, applicable for both papers.

It is important to note that there are 210 questions in PSTET Exam. To answer those questions, candidates will have only 2 hours and 30 minutes. Since every subject carries equal weightage of marks, aspiring candidates need to keep their TET preparation in check accordingly. 

Punjab TET 2024 Eligibility Criteria 🧑‍🏫

Apart from being well updated with the latest notifications and application process of the PSTET, it is further important that the candidate should check and confirm their eligibility for the TET, before applying for the examination.

The eligibility criteria for PSTET differ as per the 2 stages of the teaching personal selection. The candidates qualifying after the 1st stage would be chosen to teach students from 1st to 5th standard. The 2nd stage of PSTET involves the selection of candidates to teach for 6th to 8th standard. The category-wise eligibility of the  PSTET candidates has been listed below for a clear understanding.

For Primary Teachers (Class 1st to 5th)

The candidates must have a passing certificate of Senior Secondary Education, with a minimum qualifying percentage of marks along with the following certifications:

  • 2 years of Elementary Education Diploma, or
  • 4 years of Bachelor’s of Elementary Education (BEIEd), or in accordance with NCTE.
  • 2 years of Diploma in Special Education from a recognized institution.

For Elementary Teachers (Class 6th to 8th)

Candidates aspiring for the PSTET Exam to be an elementary teacher in Punjab should be a graduate or a final year student from a recognized institution and should have the following qualification:

  • 2 years of Diploma in teaching.
  • Graduation Degree with 50% of passing marks and 1 year of eligibility as a B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) by NCTE. (If Any)
  • A 12th passing certificate with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent.

The candidates willing to apply for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test can follow the process described below. The steps are as follows:

  • Candidates aspiring for Punjab TET are required to wait for the official notifications for the next recruitment drive to be updated and visit the official website of PSTET.
  • Click on the PSTET application link to register as a new user, with a valid email ID and contact number.
  • Once registered, the candidate need to complete the form submission by entering all the verified details and then paying the requested application fee, to submit the examination form.

The applicants should keep a printed copy of their PSTET 2024 application, as proof of their registration and future usage.

Applicants need to note that the process of applying for Punjab TET 2024 will be online. Therefore, the candidates will be provided with an option of payment, both by credit card and debit card. 

Note: If the candidate is appearing for their final year examination in B. El. Ed/ B. A. Ed/ BSc Ed programme, then he or she can submit their previous year’s mark sheet.

Punjab TET Admit Card 🪪

Those who are going to appear for the Punjab TET can check the official website of the examination authority and download their respective admit card. Candidates can download the PSTET admit card once it is available. Only those candidates who would have the admit card would be allowed to enter the examination hall.

Punjab TET Answer Key 2024

The Punjab TET Answer Key is used by the candidates to calculate the tentative scores that they are going to achieve in the exam and also to report if any of the answers is found wrong in the answer key. The PSTET Answer Key is released separately in a set-wise format. For Set A, B, C and D the answer keys are in separate pdfs.

Punjab TET Answer Keys can be downloaded from the Official Website of the organising body PSEB. There is a separate objections form for submitting any objections in the answer key. Candidates can submit objections on the official website after paying the fee to raise an objection. These links will be updated on the exam website after the re-exam has been conducted.

PSTET Exam Results

Candidates can expect the education council to announce the Punjab TET results after the examination. Once the merit list is available on the website, candidates can confirm their position in the declared result and download or save the scorecard for further usage.

The result scorecards and merit lists will be available on the website and are accessible with the candidate’s application login. The scorecard should be downloaded and saved for future use.

Selection Process

The Punjab TET 2024 Selection Process includes a Written Examination and a Personal Interview. Every candidate need to go through this selection process for recruitment as per the guidelines. The written examination consists of 150 Multiple Choice Questions based on PSTET Exam Syllabus. Personal Interview is an evaluation of the applicant’s practical skillset in the field of education.
