Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET) is an evaluation test to recruit teachers for primary and upper primary classes. The exam is also known as Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) and is mandatory for candidates wanting to become teachers in the state of Rajasthan. 

The examination is conducted annually by the Rajasthan Board of secondary education at two levels. Candidates qualifying for level I can teach primary classes while those qualifying for level II can teach upper primary classes. Aspirants can appear for either paper I and paper II or both. Each year a list of cut-off marks and other eligibility criteria is released on the official website which must be fulfilled by the candidates.

RTET Exam 2023 Important Dates

While some of the important dates for the RTET exam 2023 have been published, few of the details and dates are yet to be released by the official authority. Notwithstanding this, we have prepared the below tentative schedule of the examination based on the previous years’ schedule.

RTET 2023 Exam Pattern

The RTET exam will include two papers, i.e., Paper-I and Paper-II for the post of teachers in Primary and Upper Primary classes. The exam will be conducted online with MCQs only.

RTET Exam Paper I Pattern

The RTET Exam Paper I is for candidates aspiring to be a teacher in primary classes. The duration of the exam will be 150 minutes. Details are given in the table below:

RTET Exam Paper II Pattern

The RTET Exam Paper II is for candidates aspiring to be a teacher in the upper primary classes. Much like Paper-I, the candidates will get 150 minutes for Paper II. Aspirants can choose to attempt either the Mathematics & Science section or the Social Sciences section of the paper based on their preference. The questions from the remaining sections are mandatory for the candidates to qualify for the exam.

RTET Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

There is a set eligibility criterion that the candidates must meet to be eligible for RTET  Paper I and Paper II. There are three essential eligibility criteria that a candidate must meet which are discussed below:

The candidate must have completed graduation and should be appearing in or have passed the final year of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education

The candidate must have completed graduation and passed or appeared in the final year of a two-year diploma in elementary education
The candidate should have graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and should be appearing in or have qualified final year of 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

The candidate should have passed graduation and should be appearing in or have qualified for the final year of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education

The candidate should have graduated with a minimum of 45% marks and should be appearing in or have qualified for 1 year Bachelor of Education as per the NCTE standards and regulations

RTET Exam 2023- Apply Online

The registration process for RTET Exam 2023 will begin soon and the link for registration will be available soon. To avoid a last-minute rush, candidates are advised to register at the earliest. How to Apply for the RTET 2023 Examination?

The entire process of registration is online and it comprises two stages:

  • Stage I– Registration Process

Step 1: The candidates are required to visit the above-mentioned link.

Step 2: Enter the basic details such as name, date of birth, gender, phone number and Email ID.  

Step 3: After successful completion, the candidates will receive a provisional registration number and a password on their registered Email ID and phone number.  

  • Stage II– Login to fill up the Application Form

Step 1: Log in with the registered number and password and complete the application process.

Step 2: Fill up the personal details, academic qualifications, and communication and permanent address details carefully.

Step 3: Choose the examination centre nearest to you.

Step 4: Upload a scanned copy of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression.

Step 5: Read carefully and then accept the terms and conditions.

Step 6: Verify the details entered by you carefully once more before proceeding further with the application fees.

Step 7: After verification, pay the required application fee.

Step 8: After successful payment of the application fee you will receive a copy of a receipt, download it and keep it for later reference. 

Application Fee for RTET 2023

The application fee for the RTET Examination 2023 is mandatory. Without successful payment, the application form will be cancelled. The application fee payment can be submitted online through the payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net Banking. The application fee is non-refundable. Further, offline fees shall not be accepted.

RTET 2023 Reservation Criteria 

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Non-creamy layer of OBC/Non-Creamy layer of OBC/PWD, female candidates, widows, divorcees, marriage distortions, and Sharia candidates from Bara District will be given the reservation.

  • The application fee for the General / OBC creamy layer is RS.100/-, for the Non-Creamy layer OBC- 70 and for SC/ST – Rs. 60/-.
  • Candidates from Rajasthan who belong to the SC/ST/OBC category (male) or who belong to the general category will receive a maximum of 05 years of relaxation.
  • There is a maximum of 10 years of relaxation for female candidates with Rajasthan natives who are members of the SC/ST/OBC category.
  • The relaxation for ex-servicemen increases up to 10 years, and the number of vacancies reserved for ex-servicemen is 12.5%.
  • Candidates who are currently working in the Panchayat of Rajasthan will get an age relaxation up to 03 years.
  • 2% vacancies are reserved for Sports Quota 2018. If any candidate has participated in Indian Olympics or national level sports or a certificate for any sports awarded by the Indian Olympic Association or an affiliated national sports federation.
  • Any member of the Indian team that represents India in an international tournament.
  • Any reserved seat for BC/MBC (non-creamy) will be vacant and is given to the General candidate.
  • If any vacant seat was reserved for the female candidate that would be offered to the male candidate.
  • Caste certificates for married women before marriage would not be accepted. They would have to make a new one.
  • There is an 8% reserved seat for widowed women and a 2% reserved seat for divorced women.

Who conducts the RTET exam and when?
