When was UNO Founded?
UNO was founded in 1945 after World War II with the ultimate goal of preventing future world wars. On 25 April 1945, 50 nations decided to meet in San Francisco for a conference and drafted the UN Charter. On 25 June 1945, the draft was adopted. UNO began its operations on 24 October 1945.
It only had 51 members in the initial phases. Today it has 193 nations serving as a member.
